How many of us can ignore the majestic sight of a hot air balloon as it makes its stately and serene progress across the sky? Ballooning is a weather dependent sport and we do our flying in the early morning just after sunrise and two hours before sunset. This is the time when winds are the calmest and flying is the most enjoyable. There is no greater reward for an early morning wake up than to see the deer leaping through the dew covered corn fields or to fly over a fog shrouded lake. Late evening flyers are rewarded with a memorable sunset as the balloon is deflated and put away for the day.
